A customer in the USA is looking for a solution for metering and mixing two-component foam for medium to small production quantities. The foam is to be dispensed into a mould. It is a medium shot size and a small production quantity.

The requirements
For reliable curing, it is important that the material is precisely metered and homogeneously mixed. The foam must also be processed relatively quickly, as the polyurethane foam has a pot life of 30 seconds. For this reason, the nozzle should be easy to clean or disposable.

The solution
METER MIX supplied the customer a LiquidFlow 30M metering and mixing system to process the two-component polyurethane foam. It is a flexible system with gear pump technology and continuous material flow. Because of this, it is perfect for low-mid flow applications and the shot size the customer required. The machine meters, mixes and dispenses the PU foam precise and reproducible and allows the customer to handle the pot time very well. Further, it has flexible material hoses to a mixer valve, incorporating disposable static mixing nozzle.
